Mr Andrew Ng is Group Executive of DBS & Head of Treasury and Markets. He joined DBS in 2000 and was named Managing Director and Regional Head of Trading in 2005.

Since 2006, Andrew has been instrumental in leading DBS Treasury and Market’s expansion in the region. In addition, he helped build a pan-Asia trading platform on different asset classes and established a region-wide local currencies derivative capability for the bank. He has also expanded DBS’ capabilities in generic and exotic derivatives.

Andrew has worked in the treasury business for over 35 years. Prior to joining DBS, he was Executive Director at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce from 1995 to 1999. In that role, he set up CIBC’s trading platform and derivative capabilities on Asian currencies. Between 1986 and 1995, Andrew was Head of North Asia Trading and Treasurer of Chase Manhattan Bank in Taipei.

Stéphane Malrait is Managing Director and Global Head of market structure and innovation for Financial Markets at ING Bank. Stephane is working with advocacy groups, policy makers and regulators to follow market structure and industry challenges impacting the financial market industry. He is also leading innovation activities in the capital market space within ING and developing external partnership with Fintech companies. He actively contributes in industry working groups to represent ING Bank.

Stéphane joined ING in 2015 to lead the bank e-commerce initiatives across all financial market products and to develop the financial market group’s cross-asset ecommerce strategy. Before joining ING, Stephane spent eight years at Société Générale, where he was Global Head of FIC eCommerce, creating an eCommerce business covering credit, rates, money market, emerging market and FX. Prior to this, Stéphane worked at JPMorgan Chase for ten years, serving in different roles in Global FX E-Commerce Business Management and cross-asset eCommerce technology and was based in London and New York.

Stephane has a strong background in financial markets and understands the need for continued technological development to drive positive change in trading and market structure workflows. He is leading ING Financial Market innovation strategy and working on the implementation of financial regulations that will impact the clients trading activity and transform how trading floor operates.

Stephane is also an advisor or board member for several Fintech initiatives and trading associations in Fixed income and FX. Since 2005 he has been active with the ACI Financial Market Association – an international non-profit organisation that represents the interests of market professionals in foreign exchange and money markets. He chaired the ACI FX committee from 2010 for 10 years and joined ACI FMA board in 2020 and became chairman of the board in June 2021. He is also an active member of the ECB FX contact group and co-chair the BIS Global FX code of conduct Algo and TCA sub-group.

 

Ms Deborah Ho

Deborah is the regional head of the South East Asian business for BlackRock and country head of BlackRock Singapore.

Based in Singapore, Deborah is responsible for a wide-ranging portfolio in markets across South East Asia. This includes delivering the breadth and depth of BlackRock’s capabilities to clients in the region.

BlackRock is one of the world’s leading providers of investment, advisory and risk management solutions. As of Q4 2022, BlackRock’s assets under management total US$8.59 trillion across fixed income, cash management, alternative investment, real estate, equities and advisory strategies.

Deborah is a member of BlackRock’s Asia-Pacific Executive Committee. She was the APAC Chair for WIN from 2018 – 2022 and has had extensive experience at the helm of various women’s networks in the financial services industry in Asia and continues to champion gender equality in the workplace.

Deborah is passionate about developing leaders in the financial services sector in Asia. She is active in contributing to the development of the financial industry in Singapore. She represents BlackRock on the Financial Centre Advisory Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), which consists the most senior representatives of the top financial institutions in Singapore. She was also a member of the Steering Committee of the Green Finance Industry Taskforce, an industry grouping convened by the MAS to accelerate the development of green finance in Singapore.

Deborah has 30 years of experience in Investment Banking and Asset Management and is on the investment committee of the LKY fund for Bilingualism. She is a Board member of the Singapore Land Transport Authority and is a trustee on the board of the Singapore Management University.

Deborah was most recently awarded the Lifetime achievement award by Markets Media Group in the 2021 Women in finance Asia Awards for her contribution to female talent development in the Finance Industry.

Mr Hyder Ahmad

Hyder Ahmad is a Founding Partner and Managing Director of Broad Peak. Mr Ahmad is the Chief Investment Officer of the firm. Prior to founding Broad Peak, Mr. Ahmad was a Partner of Goldman Sachs and ran its Equities and Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities Divisions in Asia.

Mr. Ahmad holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School (1995) and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (1990).

Broad Peak is a Pan-Asian focused multi-strategy investment management firm based in Singapore. The central investment philosophy of the firm is to combine a bottom-up research-based approach with detailed fundamental analysis and an understanding of value creating catalysts. The firm focuses on fairly concentrated investments with a medium to long term investment horizon.

Mr Michael Syn

Mr Michael Syn is Head of Equities at Singapore Exchange (SGX Group). Mr Syn has management responsibility for SGX equity businesses, serving as CEO of the stock market (SGX-ST), depository (CDP) and futures market (SGX-DT/DC).

Prior to this role, Mr Syn led the Exchange’s successful derivatives business in equity, commodity and currency assets. He joined SGX Group in 2011 with a background in investment banking and investment management.

Mr Syn serves on the council of Economic Society of Singapore and the board of Sentosa Development Corporation. He chairs One Faber Group, one of Singapore’s leading operators of a suite of leisure and lifestyle services, anchored around the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network of six stations. He graduated with MA and PhD degrees from Cambridge University and attended the Harvard Advanced Management Program.

Ms Elaine Yew

Elaine Yew is a Senior Partner in Egon Zehnder and the Global Co-Head for our Family Business and Family Office Practice. She is also the Asia lead of our Global Board Practice and a founding leader of our Global Leadership Advisory Practice. She serves private and public companies on succession planning for CEO, other C-level positions and Non-Executive positions and advises clients on CEO development, top team effectiveness, organizational culture and board effectiveness. Elaine is a trained Coach and Fellow of the Institute of Coaching, McLean, affiliated to the Harvard Medical School. She is also a certified Mediator and uses some of the principles in helping people work better together.

Elaine joined the firm in 2000 and spent the first nine years in the London office developing the Private Equity Practice in Europe. She moved to Singapore to lead the office there as Managing Partner until 2016. She was also a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee for eight years.

Before joining the firm, Elaine helped to lead an industry change program while at Global Freight Exchange, the world’s first Internet-based global marketplace for air cargo. Prior to that, she was Executive Director with Goldman Sachs in the European Equities Division, based in London. Earlier, she was a Consultant with Monitor Company, working across Europe with clients in diverse sectors. She started her career with the Singapore Economic Development Board, where she was at the center of early regionalization work, helping Singapore companies develop their presence in Indochina and Myanmar in the early 1990s.

Elaine’s first passion was the Theatre, and she has a BA with Honours in English and Drama from the University of Kent and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Education is a big area of interest for Elaine and where most of her community work is centered. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the National University of Singapore and is a member of the Industry Advisory Board of NUS’s School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE). Elaine also serves on the Board of Governors of the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus group of schools in Singapore.

Elaine’s other focus in her community work is in the area of leadership and workforce development in Singapore. She sat on the Board of Workforce Singapore, and is on the Advisory Board of Women’s Forum Singapore. She sits on the board of The Majurity Trust, a philanthropic foundation, and chairs their Tangent Initiative.

In addition, Elaine is a Director on the Board of SPH Media Holdings, on the independent Nominating Committee of BW Offshore, BW Energy, BW LPG and Hafnia, listed on the Norwegian Stock Exchange; and is a member of the Asia Advisory Board of Allianz. She is also a board member of the Singapore International Mediation Centre and is a Justice of the Peace.

Mr Piyush Gupta

Mr. Piyush Gupta has been Chief Executive Officer and Director of DBS Group since 2009.

DBS is a leading financial services group in Asia, headquartered in Singapore. Recognised for its global leadership, DBS has been named “World’s Best Bank” by several global publications like Euromoney and Global Finance. The bank is at the forefront of leveraging digital technology to shape the future of banking, and was also named “World’s Best Digital Bank” by Euromoney. In addition, in 2019, DBS was listed among the top ten most transformative organisations of the decade by Harvard Business Review.

Prior to joining DBS, Piyush had a 27 year career at Citigroup, where his last position was Chief Executive Officer for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Piyush is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Singapore Management University, Vice-Chairman of the Institute of International Finance, Washington, and Vice-Chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Executive Committee. In addition, he is a member of Singapore’s Advisory Council on the Ethical Use of AI and Data, and Bretton Woods Committee – Advisory Council. He sits on the boards of Singapore’s National Research Foundation, and the Singapore’s Council for Board Diversity. Piyush is a term trustee of the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA). Previously, he has been a member of the Singapore Emerging Stronger Taskforce, aimed at defining Singapore’s future in a post-Covid world, the UN Secretary General’s Task Force on Digital Financing of the Sustainable Development Goals, and the McKinsey Advisory Council.

Piyush has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, India and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM, Ahmedabad.

Piyush was awarded the Public Service Star by the President of Singapore for his meritorious services to the nation in 2020. He is a recipient of the 2023 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, the highest honour conferred by the Indian Government on the country’s diaspora.

Piyush was named one of the world’s top 100 best-performing chief executives in Harvard Business Review – 2019 edition of “The CEO 100”. He was named Global Indian of the Year by the Economic Times in 2021, Singapore Business Awards’ Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year in 2016, and Singapore Business Leader of the Year by CNBC in 2014.

In his personal capacity, Piyush takes a keen interest in nature, and is a Co-Chairman of the BirdLife International Advisory Group.

Professor Bernard Yeung

President Emeritus (Inaugural) of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research, Emeritus Professor, NUS Business School, and Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholar, Visiting Chair Professor, Southern University of Science and Technology

Professor Bernard Yeung is Chair Professor, and China’s Ministry of Education appointed Changjiang (Yangtze River) Scholar, visiting the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) (Aug 2023 – ). He is also the President Emeritus (Inaugural) of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research and an emeritus professor at the National University of Singapore Business School.

Professor Yeung was the President of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (2013 to 2023). He was also the Stephen Riady Distinguished Professor in Finance and Strategic Management at the National University of Singapore Business School (Jun 2008 – Jun 2023). He was Dean of NUS Business School from June 2008 to June 2019. Before joining NUS, he was the Abraham Krasnoff Professor in Global Business, Economics, and Management at New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business and the Director of the NYU China House. From 1988 to 1999, he taught at the University of Michigan and the University of Alberta from 1983 to 1988.

Professor Yeung has published widely cited work in top-tier academic journals covering Finance, Economics, Strategy, and International Business topics. He has more than 30,600 citations.

He was awarded the Public Administration Silver Medal (2018) in Singapore, the Irwin Outstanding Educator Award (2013) from the Academy of Management, and is an elected Fellow of the Academy of International Business.
Professor Yeung was a member of the Economic Strategies Committee in Singapore (2009), a member of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) in Singapore (2016-2018), and a member of the Financial Research Council of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (2010 -2013).

Professor Yeung sits on the Advisory Board of the East Asia Institute, NUS and the Advisory Committee of the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica. Professor Yeung also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Bank of China (BOC) Aviation Limited since 2016 and the Advisory Board of Healthway Medical Corporation Ltd (2018-2022).

Professor Yeung received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario and his MBA and Ph.D. degrees from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago.

 

Mr Jimmy Lim

Mr. Lim, a recognized leading Asian macro investor for more than a decade, has over 20 years of trading and investing experience. He is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Modular Asset Management (MAM), a multi-strategy macro hedge fund investing in Asia. Prior to launching MAM, Mr. Lim served as Asia Macro Portfolio Manager at Millennium Capital Management (Singapore), where he managed a $600M portfolio. While at Millennium, Mr. Lim developed an investment and research team with sector specialization within Asian markets. In addition, he developed and refined proprietary trading tools to support and enhance the specialized expertise of the team. Prior to that, Mr. Lim was Asia Macro Portfolio Manager at BlueCrest Capital Management (Geneva and Singapore), where he developed his investment strategy and built out an investment team. Prior to his tenure at BlueCrest, Mr. Lim was CIO, Executive Director and Head of Asia Ex-Japan Macro Trading at JPMorgan. Before that, he served as Regional Head for FX and Rate market making for G10 and Asian currencies for Lehman Brothers (Tokyo and Singapore). He began his career as an FX trader at Standard Chartered and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore.

Mr Mohit Khurana

Mohit Khurana is the Chief Investment officer of Southern Ridges Capital and has been trading emerging markets across FX and rates through different cycles since 2002. He founded Southern Ridges Capital in 2019 following a consistent 6 year track record of high risk-adjusted returns at BlueCrest Capital where he had started as a standalone portfolio manager in 2012. He has been able to identify, recruit and manage talent throughout his career and had built a team of 9 experienced portfolio managers prior to the launch of Southern Ridges Capital.

Prior to joining BlueCrest, Mohit was heading the South Asia Onshore & Offshore Rates trading desks at JP Morgan. Mohit began his career at Citibank, Mumbai trading India rates and FX. He then joined Barclays in 2004 where he was instrumental as part of the senior core trading team, in establishing the EM Offshore Rates
Trading desk presence in new markets such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia. Mohit holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a B.E. in Industrial & Production Engineering from SGSITS, Indore, India.

 

Mr Shiang Hue Lye

Mr. Lye is Chief Investment Officer of Astignes Capital and overseas the Firm’s investment strategies. In addition, Mr. Lye is a Portfolio Manager focused on Greater China.

Mr. Lye graducated from Cornell University with an MSc. In Electrical Engineering and from Institut Superieur d’Electronique de Paris with a Masters in Engineering.

Mr Daniel Maguire

Daniel became Group Head, Post Trade, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) on 1 January 2020. He is also a member of LSEGs Executive Committee.

Daniel joined LCH in 1999, and during his career at LCH and LSEG has held a variety of senior roles including Global Head of SwapClear, ForexClear, LCH Group COO and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of LCH Group in October 2017.

Daniel had responsibility for risk management, default management, product management, regulatory strategy, programme delivery, sales, marketing and operations across LCH’s SwapClear service, chairing SwapClear Default Management Group and participating in LCHs Risk Committee. In 2010 Daniel established and built out LCH’s North America operations in New York and led SwapClear’s client clearing franchise. Daniel worked at J.P. Morgan from 2005 to 2008 before returning to LCH on 1 September 2008 where he was immediately responsible for the successful trading and unwinding of Lehman Brothers’ LCH-cleared bond and repo portfolio.

Over his career Daniel has made significant contributions to the development of CCP and derivatives regulatory frameworks across the globe, as well as a leading role in the industry in LIBOR and new reference rate transition, and also the UK withdrawal from the EU and the impact on Financial Services. Daniel was appointed to the Board of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) in April 2018, Daniel was appointed as Chairman of CurveGlobal Limited in May 2020 and also Chairman of UnaVista Limited in June 2021.

Mr David Dredge

David Dredge is CIO, CEO and a Director of Convex Strategies Pte Ltd. Mr Dredge fulfilled these same roles while managing the Fund under City Financial Investment Company Pte Ltd. Prior to joining City Financial Investment Company Pte Ltd, Mr. Dredge worked as Co-Chief Investment Officer at Fortress Investment Group LLC. Prior to joining Fortress in 2011, Mr. Dredge was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Artradis Fund Management in Singapore, where he was responsible for the non-equity aspects of their volatility based portfolio. Previously, Mr. Dredge built Asian and Global EM businesses for RBS/ABN AMRO Group and Bankers Trust. Prior to that he performed various trading roles for Bank of America in San Francisco, London, Singapore, Jakarta, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Mr. Dredge is a main committee member of the Singapore Foreign Exchange Markets Committee (SFEMC).

Mr. Dredge graduated from University of Utah with a degree in Finance and completed an MBA at the University of California, Berkeley.

Mr Juan Madera Jimenez

Juan brings over 20 years of experience in building high performing teams and leading digital transformation across the US, Europe, and APAC.

His expertise is focused on banking infrastructure, core systems modernization, open banking, platform operating models and cloud adoption in Financial Services.

Prior to Microsoft, he held sales, consulting and management roles in Accenture, EY and IBM, and brings expertise from his previous projects in the export and education sectors.

Juan is originally from Spain and studied Mathematics at the University of Granada.

Ms Ong Ai Ling

Ong Ai Ling is Head of AIOI (Artificial Intelligence of Investments) and a portfolio manager at Lion Global Investors. Ai Ling started her investment career in London and has over 18 years of experience managing Asia-Pacific and global equity investments.

Prior to joining Lion Global Investors, Ai Ling was responsible for pan-Asian investment management at Point 72 (Singapore) and was an Investment Director at Dymon Asia (Singapore). Earlier in her career, she held investment and research roles at Davidson Kempner (Hong Kong), Coller Capital (London) and Deutsche Bank AG (London).

Ai Ling holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts for Law from the University of Cambridge (UK) where she graduated with double first-class honours. Ai Ling has certificates in Data Science and Machine Learning for Asset Management from the EDHEC Business School and in Data Science in Asset Management from IMAS (Investment Management Association of Singapore). She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from BPP Professional Education (London) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Mr Peng Cheng

Managing Director and Head of Big Data & AI Strategies

Peng Cheng is Managing Director and Head of Big Data and AI Strategies at JPMorgan. He is responsible for developing cross asset investment strategies leveraging alternative data and advanced statistical techniques. Prior to joining the bank in 2010, he was a Convertible and Volatility strategist at Lehman Brothers/Barclays. Peng is frequently quoted in the financial press and his research has been used as university teaching materials. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and is a CFA charterholder.

Ms Patricia Or

Regulatory Affairs Lead for SEA, India and Japan
Bloomberg L.P.

Patricia Or leads government and regulatory affairs in South/Southeast Asia and Japan at Bloomberg. In this role, she monitors and analyses policy trends that impact Bloomberg and its clients, and collaborates with senior leadership to develop strategies that align business objectives with regulatory developments. Patricia frequently engages policymakers and industry associations to put forth Bloomberg’s viewpoints.

Before joining Bloomberg, Patricia was at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) where she developed strategies to strengthen Singapore’s position as a wealth management hub, and formulated market conduct and investor protection policies. She was also actively involved in the work of international standard-setting and regulatory bodies such as the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF).

Patricia started her career in private banking, advising and managing financial assets of high net-worth clients based in Indonesia and Greater China.

Dr Jeffrey Jaensubhakij

Group Chief Investment Officer
GIC

Dr Jeffrey Jaensubhakij was appointed Group Chief Investment Officer in January 2017. He oversees GIC’s total investment portfolio, and works with investment group heads to manage and monitor investment activities across all asset classes. He also leads the development of short- and long-term investment policies to optimize the risk-reward of the total portfolio across changing investment environments. He joined GIC in 1998 as a Senior Economist covering the US economy and was subsequently appointed Co-Head of Asset Allocation Strategy in the Economics and Strategy Department. He was Head of Total Return Equities and the US Equities teams based in GIC’s New York Office from 2003 to 2011. He was subsequently appointed President, Europe in 2011 coordinating GIC’s investment activities in Europe across public and private asset classes, President, Public Markets and Director of Public Equities in 2013, and Deputy Group Chief Investment Officer in 2016.

Dr Jaensubhakij holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Cambridge University, as well as a Master’s and a PhD in Economics from Stanford University.

Mr Gerald Chan

Partner at Dymon Asia Capital

Mr. Gerald Chan a Partner at Dymon Asia Capital. Prior to joining Dymon Asia in July 2015, Mr. Chan was Country Head and CEO of UBS in Singapore. Mr. Chan worked in UBS from 1994 – July 2015 and held various key roles in his tenor within the firm.

Mr Lutfey Siddiqi

London School of Economics

Lutfey Siddiqi is a Visiting Professor-in-Practice at the London School of Economics where he also sits on the advisory boards of the Systemic Risk Centre, the foreign policy think-tank LSE IDEAS, and the Inclusion Initiative in the Behavioural Science department. He is an Emeritus Governor of LSE and a former member of LSE investment committee.

Concurrently, he is an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore and advisory board member at the centre for governance and sustainability, NUS Business School.

He is a member of the governing board of UWC Atlantic College, Wales and a former member of the governing board of New City College Group, England.

Lutfey is a member of the World Economic Forum global future council on fiscal and monetary policy, having previously served on the councils for inclusive finance, capital markets, and infrastructure investment.

He was previously Global Head of Emerging Markets for Foreign Exchange, Rates & Credit at UBS Investment Bank where he was also the founding head of UBS Knowledge Network. Prior to that, he worked at Barclays and Deutsche bank in both London and Singapore.
