Since the Global Financial Crisis, the financial markets are undergoing fundamental changes and banks and financial institutions are facing increased challenges through digital disruption, new technologies and new capital and regulatory standards amidst revenue and cost pressures. Whilst the market volatility seen in 2020 has generally benefitted the financial markets business, there is an open question about how to align the cost base with revenue drivers for the next phase.
