Professional Development
A Cornerstone of the activities of ACI Singapore is the professional development of market practitioners in the financial markets. Courses are conducted regularly not only for new entrants to the industry but also to support the continuing education requirements of experienced professionals in the industry. Recognizing the need for professionalism in the entire transaction chain, courses are conducted not only for the front office dealers and traders, but also for the professionals in the Middle Office and Support functions.
ACI Singapore has also entered into a partnership with the Singapore Management University, and currently jointly conducts a comprehensive and structured suite of development courses for new entrants in the Front, Middle and Back Offices. These courses are currently conducted as the ACI SMU FICS Financial Markets Suite of Courses.
Evening Seminars are also regularly conducted by ACI Singapore to update members on new products, regulatory changes and the trading outlook of markets.
Ethical Conduct in Financial Markets
ACI Singapore is fully committed to promoting the highest standards of Ethical Conduct in the Financial Markets.
Globally, the ACI Model Code has become an industry standard for ethical conduct and sets the standard for how professionals in the industry conduct themselves. ACI Singapore professionals currently play an active role in the maintenance of the Model Code by their participation in the ACI Committee For Professionalism.
In Singapore, ACI Singapore also works closely with the Singapore Foreign Exchange Market Committee (SFEMC), Institute of Banking & Finance and Monetary Authority of Singapore to promote best practices through the Financial Markets Regulatory and Practices (FMRP) Certificate. The FMRP not only addresses Code of Conduct issues, but also ensures that all professionals are familiar with the statutory and regulatory framework in Singapore.
